JUST A FEW OF DUI’S FAVOURITE THINGS…
Picking your favourite pieces of clothing is pretty much an impossible task to do when you have so much choice. Our summer collection this year is bursting with fun, colourful options that are perfect for picnics on the beach with friends, fancy long lunches with the girls or just “looking fab” every day. We asked our amazing founder and designer Dui what’s grabbed her attention so far for summer… stay tuned as I’m sure there’ll be more to come.
The beautiful crinkled cotton Ahana Dress in Sunset, with its stunning embroidery, is one of Dui’s favourites so far in our current summer collection. It’s an easy wearing, soft, flowing cotton dress, with a beautiful drape. To get the most out of the fabric, Dui usually twists it after it’s washed to get the crinkles going again. “The more crinkles the better!”, she says. The Ahana Dress is fully lined so you don’t have to worry about it being see-through, and it can be worn dressed up, or just straight over your swimmers on a summers day. Dui loves styling it with the Cisco Denim Jacket with ‘Groove is in the Heart’ embroidered on the back.
This fun little combo is a Dui winner! The classic styled Tribeca Pants in Kapade Brown Check are a funky addition to your summer wardrobe. They’re a perfect lightweight and breathable cotton fabric, with texture and movement, pleats in the front, an elasticised back waistband and POCKETS! Dui loves wearing them with her favourite Bengal Boss Zion Tee as it has a print of an Indian prince riding a tiger on the front. This print is from a traditional miniature Indian painting from the Rajasthan area (where Dui lives part-time). The fabric is soft and woven, in an old burnt out cotton look, something Dui hasn’t seen for ages so thought it would be good for this season.
Who doesn’t love watercolours?! well, Dui definitely does!!
For Dui’s first look, she has styled the Boom Watercolour Kerala Singlet with our Mint Mudra Shirt & the Mittee Block Print Tribeca Pants. This combo is such a Dui look as she’s known for mixing prints and colours and creating super fun styles. Here she is wearing the Mint Mudra Shirt over the Boom Watercolour Singlet, with our BOOM written in Hindi on the front. This lovely, soft, flowing singlet can be worn in numerous occasions, from fun colourful outfits like this, with simple shorts on a hot summery day, or dressed up with pants or a skirt, as the colours and fabric are just divine. The Mint Mudra Shirt features an astrological motif and Devanagari script, plus our BOOM in Hindi on the back, which looks great over the top of the watercolour singlet. Being a 100% rayon the fabric is soft, light and perfect for summer. Dui has teamed the Tribeca Pants in our Mittee Block Print to finish off the whole look. Dui loves our traditional wooden block print fabrics as it is a traditional form of fabric design so something to be celebrated.
For Dui’s second watercolour combo, she’s gone for a smart yet sporty outfit with our matching Boom Watercolour Kerala Singlet and Boom Watercolour pants. Dui loves matching sets, and especially ones with Boom Shankar written in Hindi all the way up the leg line… plus a big Hindi BOOM on the singlet. Dui reckons this outfit would look great with funky sneakers, but here she’s gone for some colourful platform Teva’s, as summer on the coast usually calls for open shoes. Being shorter, Dui’s pulled the elasticised ankle bands of the pants up her legs to adjust the length, which makes them fall beautifully still without any hassle of having to alter. This outfit is fun, colourful, and very comfy.
For her third watercolour look, Dui has teamed the Boom Watercolour pants with our elegant Ahana Embroidered Singlet. This beautiful white cotton singlet is floaty and feminine, with sweet embroidered detail and textured woven fabric with ornamental edges that bring a lovely contrast to the playful colourful watercolour pants. You could dress this outfit up with colourful beads and big fun earrings. The options are endless!!!!
This jumpsuit is gorgeous! Created with textured woven fabric and ornamental edges, with sweet embroidered detail, make this jumpsuit a chic and classic look that can be dressed up for a daytime event, and stunning heading out to a fancy dinner. Dui has styled it first with the matching Ahana Embroidered Kimono which is made from the same fabric, and together they create a very sophisticated and elegant look, that’s feminine and floaty, and would be perfect for a wedding or any fancy event. For a different style altogether, Dui has paired the Ahana Jumpsuit with our Laal Shirt tied up over top to eventuate the waistline. The beautiful pinks of the Laal block print fabric against the soft white tone of our Ahana Jumpsuit make this a really gorgeous combo.
